Take art to a whole new level.
Supplies Needed
Instructions
- Pour each bottle of glue into its own bowl.
- Add ½ tbsp. of baking soda to each bowl and mix thoroughly. Add 1¼ tbsp. of contact lens solution to each bowl and mix until solution gets thick and slime begins to form.
- Take out the slime and begin kneading it with both hands. If needed, add another ¼ tbsp. of contact lens solution to make the slime less sticky.
- Watch SciShow’s YouTube video on mixing colors with the entire class.
- Now you’re ready to be expert color mixers! Divide each color of slime into three equal parts.
- Mix one-third of the yellow slime with one-third of the red slime and see what color it makes. Continue to mix until you have a whole color wheel of slime colors.
- Lay out your color wheel. Then ooh and ahh at your colorful creation!
* Adult supervision is required; this project is not appropriate for children under the age of 3 years. Always wash your hands before and after making and playing with slime. Warning: If large quantities of contact lens solution are accidentally ingested (greater than a tablespoon), get medical attention immediately.
* Some contact solution brands work better than others. Check out the Slime Tips section at elmers.com/slime for details.
