Learning Spinners

Help children practice their math and vocabulary with these fun and easy group activities!

Supplies Needed

  • Downloadable Multiplication Wheel
  • Elmer’s® Disappearing Purple School Glue Stick (or any other Elmer’s glue)
  • Scissors
  • Foam Board
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Pushpin
  • Paper clip
  • Marker
  • Cup

Instructions

  1. Download the multiplication wheel. Cut it out and glue it to a piece of foam board.
  2. Place the paper clip near the center. Push the pushpin through the opening of the paperclip and through the center of the wheel, creating a spinner.
  3. Use a marker to write numbers (1-9) on one end of the popsicle sticks. If you don’t have enough for 9, that’s okay. Go up to whichever number you have.
  4. Place the popsicle sticks number side down into a cup.
  5. Take turns drawing a stick out of the cup, then spinning the spinner.
  6. Multiply the number on the popsicle stick by the number that the spinner lands on.
  7. Repeat! See how many problems everyone can answer correctly.
